About The Position

As an Operations Engineer, you will support and monitor enterprise systems and applications using COTS and custom solutions. You will bridge the gap between development and operations by supporting and enhancing automated, scalable, and resilient systems running on Windows and/or Red Hat Linux Operating Systems. You will be responsible for the continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and the overall health and reliability of our platforms. You will provide support for system hardening to DOD security standards to ensure all production environments are highly secure and available.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of systems administration experience working in a Linux or Windows enterprise environment (DOD environment highly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with system hardening and implementation of DISA STIGs.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of interpreting vulnerability reports and defining executable actions to reduce risks and address patch requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential; must be able to effectively communicate with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup) and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong track record of taking solution ownership and the ability to articulate design choices to bring about consensus.
  • BS degree in Information Technology or another related technical discipline.
  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN AND BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE GOVERNMENT'S BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) is highly preferred.
  • Strong networking knowledge and experience (LAN/WAN, protocols, troubleshooting) preferred.
  • Splunk experience is preferred for proactive issue resolution and logging.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor system performance and capacity using enterprise tools; Splunk experience is preferred for proactive issue resolution and logging.
  • Design and manage automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure to support rapid, reliable software releases.
  • Maintain system documentation and develop new documentation for automation workflows, recovery procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Validating and implementing critical system patches and security updates through configuration management.
  • Create, deploy, and administer file servers and shares for functionality in hybrid environments.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and resolutions on LAN and WAN connections.
  • Assists with the scheduling, planning, and oversight of system upgrades and replacements for program assets.
