Ameriprise Financial, Inc. seeks an Operations Engineer in Minneapolis, MN to support the ETL technologies production environment by proactively monitoring and quickly responding to batch incidents across multiple technologies within the technical area of expertise. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 10 years of production support experience on Informatica/Python/AWS Technologies and applications.
  • Good understanding and technical knowledge on Informatica architecture/client components such as Workflow Manager, Mapping Designer, workflow monitor and Repo manager.
  • Excellent knowledge on Informatica/IDMC/AWS/Python concepts.
  • Knowledge on AWS services such as IAM, SNS, SQS, Lambda, EMR, Lake Formation, AWS Step Function, Athena, and EC2.
  • Hands-on expertise in debugging Informatica/IDMC ETL Mapping to narrow down the Issue.
  • Hands-on experience in ETL transformation such as lookup/joiners/source qualifier/normalizer.
  • Hands-on experience in dealing with various types of sources such as Flat files/Mainframes/XML files and Databases.
  • Hands-on experience in resolving the Mainframe file issues like (Dataset unavailable or locked, Space issue, CPU Utilization, JCL errors).
  • Experience on AWS environment, Data Pipelines, RDS, Reporting tools.
  • Hands-on experience in Unix scripting/file operations.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/PL-SQL and oracle Databases.
  • Able to debug complex queries.
  • Good understanding on scheduling tool such as TWS/TIDAL/Others.
  • Worked at least 4 years on ServiceNow for application incident management, problem management in a 247 model.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to follow the processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mainframe technologies.
  • Experience on Informatica, AWS, IDMC.
  • Knowledge in the Advice & Wealth Management business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to provide production support for Informatica/IDMC/Python/AWS suit of applications in 24X7 environment.
  • Handle batch recoveries and provide batch support.
  • Work in resolving issues related to JCL, CICS, IMS, DB2, and storage technologies.
  • Assess & recommend solutions for permanent fixes to improve application stability and resiliency.
  • Handle production incident bridge calls for P1 and high priority P2 incidents.
  • Perform independent ticket analysis and resolution.
  • Drive team to work on Incident Management/Problem management and Change management and provide weekly status to the leadership.
  • Perform Root cause analysis, recap issues and problems in an email and communicate to all stakeholders and cross commit teams.
  • Drive production issues bridges and work across teams to collate impacts and send leadership communications.
  • Propose solutions to perform complex troubleshooting and help team members.
  • Identify areas of improvement and re-engineering scope.
  • Mentor interns and new joiners.
  • Collaborate with vendor and contractor partners to develop and implement detailed design, configuration, and engineering strategies.
  • Provide solutions to resolve issues and incidents while remaining focused on security, up-time, and performance.
  • Provide troubleshooting and resolution to complex problems and issues.
