CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Engineer within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities. The Operations Engineer ensures the smooth and efficient operation of a company's systems and processes. This includes maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting technical infrastructure. They focus on enhancing performance, reducing costs, and improving overall productivity. This involves designing layouts, conducting tests, implementing changes, and documenting procedures. CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 to 8 years of experience
  • TS with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI with CI Poly
  • Deep understanding of systems, networks, databases, and operating systems.
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with various teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance and Optimization: Operations Engineers monitor, maintain, and optimize the performance of a company's systems and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: They identify and resolve operational issues, often performing root cause analysis on production errors.
  • Process Improvement: They develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Project Management: They may manage projects related to system upgrades, new installations, or process improvements.
  • Collaboration: They work with various teams, including customer support, engineering, and other internal stakeholders, to ensure seamless operations and user experience.
  • Documentation: They document operational procedures, processes, and solutions.
