Operations Engineer - Critical Environment
About The Position
As a Critical Environments Operating Engineer at JLL, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining mission-critical infrastructure that powers supports our clients operations. Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working in a data center or critical facility environment
- OSHA‑30
- Fiber Handling & Cleaning
- Advanced Cabling Standards
- Rack Elevation & Documentation Reading
- Lift & Material Handling Certification (Provided by Client)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document activities and communicate technical information clearly
- Working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Flexibility to work different schedules, including holidays, and respond to site emergencies as needed
- Ability to frequently walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and work overhead in large campus-like settings
Nice To Haves
- Experience using CMMS work order management system
- Experience with critical infrastructure in mission-critical or 24/7 operational environments
- Previous experience in vendor management and contractor coordination
- CDCP or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Executes racking, stacking, and cabling without supervision
- Performs structured cable dressing (vertical/horizontal)
- Verifies labeling accuracy and documentation
- Supports decomms and remediation work
- Assists with vendor supervision and validation
- Updates tickets / CMMS with accurate as‑built details
