Ark Encounter Operations Embark Intern Summer 2027
About The Position
The Embark Internship Program contributes to the spiritual, personal and professional development of the student. As the Operations Embark Intern, the student will participate in and support the daily operations at the Ark Encounter including Admissions, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Culinary, and Retail. This internship will provide opportunities to learn about events and attraction production in a working environment. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.
Requirements
- Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church
- Strong communication skills to interact with both internal teams and guests
- Software proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office suite)
- Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required and is an essential function of this role.
- Must be able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, and peak guest attendance periods as needed.
- Must be able to transition quickly between tasks/work areas based on guest traffic and operational needs.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for the duration of the scheduled shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and movement throughout the retail environment.
- Must be able to lift/carry merchandise and supplies up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally (or with assistance if applicable).
- Must have a minimum of 45 College Credits
- Must be currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Organizational Leadership
Responsibilities
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done
- Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset
- Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments
- Participate in development courses provided for Embark Interns
- Participate in apologetics courses provided for Embark Interns
- Serve in the attraction operation departments to display our SERVE core value
- Attend meetings and participate in strategy conversations with the entire Ark Operations Team
- Work alongside the Director and Assistant Director of Ark Operations in special planning and analysis
- Learn and serve in each department to understand how teams’ function and work together
- Work in key operational positions to ensure excellent guest experience during events and peak operational hours
- Provide insight, feedback, and analysis to support a process of continuous improvement including guest flow metrics, cross-departmental communications workflows, or staffing efficiency
- And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
