About The Position
The Wildfire, Emergency and Operations (WEO) organization is responsible for oversight of PG&E’s wildfire operations and associated mitigations. The organization is responsible for the development and maintenance of consistent processes and work standards associated with sustainable wildfire and emergency response preparedness operations in line with our regulatory policies and practices. Operational Safety, Enterprise Corrective Action Program, Safety Programs, Contractor Safety, and Transportation Safety & Compliance is also embedded within Wildfire, Emergency and Operations. WEO partners with leaders in Energy Delivery and other parts of the business to develop and recommend a strategic direction for emergency preparedness, emergency response and public partnerships. Wildfire, Emergency and Operations is comprised of roughly 1,792 coworkers. The Operations Data Analyst extracts operations data for analysis, leadership support and responses to ad hoc data requests. The incumbent maintains operations tools & databases ensuring that it is kept up-to-date using data from various PG&E systems. They develop, maintain and enhance operational metric database tools for the broader analytics team(s). The Analyst identifies and solves current gaps in data requirements and ease of access to ensure fast and consistent responses to leadership inquiries. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need. Headquarters will be San Ramon and Tuesdays will be expected in office.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Job-related experience, 2 years
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with utility operations.
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel/Access (complex formulas, graphing, VBA)
- Advanced skill in building Power Bi reports
- Advanced skill in writing SQL queries
- Solid knowledge of python programming language and common data packages like pyspark and pandas.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks independently.
- Good communications and presentation skills to deliver findings and make recommendations to stakeholders.
- Project management skills.
- Familiarity with cloud based data integration platforms such as SnowFlake or Foundry
Responsibilities
- Manage standard, routine data analysis projects with limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
- Work with other Data Management Analysts to process data, analyze data and report findings. Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
- Manages standard data extracts and list pulls ensuring accurate data. Transfers the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.
- Demonstrates full understanding of data processing and analysis techniques. Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
- Develops and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients.
