About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Full-time Operations Coordinator for Environmental Services. This role provides daily support to the operations of the department and administrative support to the Leader. The Operations Coordinator assumes responsibility and accountability for office activities, administrative, procurement, and business/financial activities. Extensive knowledge of the department's operations, including educational programs, Sentara Healthcare systems, policies/procedures, and regulatory requirements, is necessary. The position supports the delivery of patient care and functions in a multi-disciplinary environment, requiring excellent communication and customer service skills. The Operations Coordinator will perform administrative tasks such as providing customer service via phone and in-person interactions, handling correspondence, scheduling meetings, preparing departmental reports, statistics, and maintaining files. Responsibilities also include processing accounts payable, payroll, employee mileage reimbursement claims, and operational information. The role is also responsible for supply ordering and charge entry, as well as providing technical and administrative support to department staff.

Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
  • 2 years of Clerical experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent Customer Service experience (Strongly Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Experience (Strongly Preferred)
