About The Position

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Operations Coordinator, Men’s Lacrosse position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI). The Operations Coordinator is a position that reports to the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach and is responsible for the coordination and organization of the day-to-day operation of the Brown men’s lacrosse program. Assists the Head Men’s Lacrosse coach in all phases of the daily operations and promotion of a Division I intercollegiate men’s lacrosse program.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 1-2 years related experience in lacrosse (collegiate playing, coaching or operations).
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication (verbal & written) & computer skills, necessary.
  • High attention to detail, necessary.
  • Basic proficiency in excel, word, internet & email capabilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to comply with, NCAA, Ivy League and University rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Must reside and perform work in a state where Brown University is registered to do business (Rhode Island, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Washington, D.C.).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Division I experience preferred.
  • Experience planning and organizing team travel, preferred.
  • Social media experience, helpful.
  • Prior experience with video editing software, helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and organization of the day-to-day operation of the Brown men’s lacrosse program.
  • Assists the Head Men’s Lacrosse coach in all phases of the daily operations and promotion of a Division I intercollegiate men’s lacrosse program.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, alumni, colleagues and the public.
  • Ability to independently coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
  • Compliance with NCAA, Ivy League and University rules and regulations.
  • Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification.
