About The Position

The City of Springfield is seeking applicants for the position of Operations Coordinator- Grants within the Office of Planning and Economic Development, Division of Economic Development. This role is responsible for overseeing the City's grant program, managing grant processes, and providing guidance to City departments throughout the grant lifecycle. The position requires a strong understanding of grant administration, compliance, and reporting, as well as the ability to serve as a primary resource for departments on grant-related matters.

Requirements

  • Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college and three years of grant administration experience, including one year of supervisory or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents.
  • Current City employees must have completed their probationary period and attained certified status in their current position to be eligible to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the City's grant program, including identifying, evaluating, and pursuing grant funding opportunities.
  • Establish and administer grant management processes and provide oversight and guidance to City departments throughout the grant lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and compliance of grant-funded programs to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of state and federal grant programs, funding requirements, and reporting obligations.
  • Serve as the primary resource for City departments by responding to grant-related inquiries and providing technical assistance regarding grant opportunities, eligibility, and compliance.
  • Maintain grant records, monitor deadlines, and assist departments with required documentation and reporting.
