Operations Controller
About The Position
The Operations Controller (OC) manages the execution of International Space Station (ISS) U.S. payloads and science experiments and ensures the required resources and constraints are in place to operate effectively and safely. Assignments tend to be of moderate complexity, diversification, or expense. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Normally receives instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. OC team supports real-time operations seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 0-2 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of ISS ops a plus.
- Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
- Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…)
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordination of any U.S. payload anomaly troubleshooting and recovery as well as recovery of payloads due to systems failures.
- Knowledgeable on systems-to-payloads/experiment interfaces as well as the payload/experiment hardware/software, rules, regulations, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
- Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.
