About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Operations Center Director to join our team! The Director of Operations Center is a supervisory leader responsible for managing the daily activities and performance of the operations center staff, with a focus on logistics and sustainment operations within the US Pacific Command (PACOM) area of responsibility. The Director provides direct supervision, coaching, and development to team members, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring operational excellence in a dynamic, multinational environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field (master’s degree a plus)
  • Equivalent military or industry experience may be considered
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant operations and logistics management experience
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role within the PACOM area of responsibility
  • Experience supporting DoW/DoD, federal agencies, or large program operations (deployment, sustainment, base operations, or contingency support)
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-modal transportation (commercial air, military airlift, ocean, truckload/LTL, rail)
  • Proficiency with TMS, ERP, and related logistics tools (eg, SAP, Oracle, JDA/Blue Yonder, MercuryGate, or similar)
  • Advanced skills in Excel and data analysis; familiarity with visualization tools (eg, Power BI, Tableau) is an asset
  • Ability to interpret contracts, tariffs, routing guides, and service agreements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple movements and priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports and correspondence; communicate effectively up and down the chain of command; proactively engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with logistics management systems, operations center technologies, workforce management tools, and performance analytics
  • Must possess a current/active Secret clearance or higher

Nice To Haves

  • Military experience in logistics, operations, or sustainment roles
  • Supervisory or management certifications (eg, SHRM, Six Sigma, PMP); logistics or PACOM-related training or certifications
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing mission requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multi-cultural teams, including military, civilian, and international partners
  • A desire to contribute directly to mission-critical operations that support US national security and international partners
  • Ability to work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment with opportunities to influence logistics strategy and innovation
  • Familiarity with PACOM operational protocols and regional considerations

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and developing operations center managers, supervisors, and staff
  • Setting performance expectations, conducting reviews, and providing feedback
  • Overseeing staff scheduling, shift coverage, and resource allocation
  • Leading recruitment, onboarding, and training for new staff
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, PACOM directives, and regulatory requirements
  • Fostering a positive, high-performance work environment
  • Communicating clearly and proactively with internal and external stakeholders regarding requirements, constraints, and statuses
  • Writing concise reports, briefings, and correspondence for all levels of the organization
  • Developing and maintaining KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports; recommending corrective actions and process enhancements
  • Identifying risks (security, schedule, regulatory, environmental) and supporting mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Coordinating and monitoring logistics operations, including supply chain management, transportation, inventory control, and distribution
  • Managing multi-modal transportation (commercial air, military airlift, ocean, truckload/LTL, rail)
  • Leading logistics and sustainment efforts during emergencies or contingency operations
  • Collaborating with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams, including military, civilian, and international partners
  • Supporting mission-critical operations that contribute to US national security and international partnerships
