About The Position

The Operations Associate II position is an hourly non-exempt role covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). This position requires full-time onsite work at a BAE Systems facility to support production needs. Employees are represented by a labor union and subject to the collective bargaining agreement. Work schedules are subject to change at any time, and candidates must be able to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd). BAE Systems is subject to FAA regulations, requiring all employees to successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening, and be subject to random drug testing during employment. The role involves tasks such as following detailed instructions, using a microscope for assembly and inspections, performing detailed hand soldering, handling small objects, assembling/rewiring components, troubleshooting products, reading rulers and gauges, and using various hand tools. The working conditions may include extended periods of standing, sitting, repetitive motion, and working with hazardous chemicals, requiring appropriate PPE.

Requirements

1+ years of previous work experience in a manufacturing production/assembly environment
Ability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift
Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Windows
Ability to pass a visual acuity or correctable vision, color vision exam
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
High school diploma or GED
Soldering experience, preferably J-STD-001
Previous experience manufacturing / assembly of electronics components
Previous experience in a work environment that requires meeting quality standards and/or productivity standards
1+ year experience reading technical documents

Responsibilities

Follow detailed written instructions, procedures, and documentation.
Use microscope to perform assembly procedures/inspections.
Use soldering equipment for detailed hand soldering and assemblies.
Perform tasks that require manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination such as handling small objects, assembling/rewiring components or troubleshooting finished products.
Follow verbal instructions, maintain positive attitude and demonstrate willingness to learn.
Read and use a ruler, gauges and fixtures.
Use and identify a variety of hand tools.
