About The Position

As an Operations Assistant, you will assist the supervisor and/or assistant supervisor in the implementation of daily objectives and effectively communicating expectations to associates to achieve departmental goals. This role is crucial to our operational efficiency, strategic growth, and overall success within the Warehouse and Distribution team, which ensures the efficient and effective movement and storage of products.

Requirements

• 1-3 years distribution or relevant supervisory experience with a 2-year degree OR 5 years demonstrated supervisor/leadership experience, preferably in a distribution environment with a high school diploma or equivalent required
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to assist fellow associates

Responsibilities

• Train and develop hourly staff in assigned area
• Operate as a back-up to assistant supervisor to ensure orderly operation of the DC
• Co-ordinate work assignments as directed
• Assist in maintaining the highest performance, housekeeping and safety standards
• Develop and recommend operational improvements where appropriate and assist with implementation upon approval
• Work within WMS/PKMS IT systems to monitor workflow and generate reports
• Assist in directing hourly associates, monitoring work methods and recommend retraining and/or disciplinary action
• The ability to multi-task and work in a constant state of alertness
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor for the effective operation of the facility
