The Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (OASM-IT) program at The Home Depot is designed to provide comprehensive, hands-on experience in the core functions of an Operations Assistant Store Manager. This training program includes mentorship and leadership development, preparing trainees to manage various store operations such as associates, sales, customer service, safety, product availability, store presentation, and profitability. Trainees will learn to oversee key areas including the Customer Service Desk, Receiving, Tool Rental, Order Fulfillment, Lot Loaders, and the Back Office. They will collaborate with store leadership and operational teams to develop strategies for boosting sales and profitability, creating action plans for departmental success, and ensuring smooth operations. OASM-ITs are expected to lead by example and uphold all company policies. The training period lasts up to 6 weeks, during which trainees will learn to execute OASM key responsibilities.
