About The Position

Operations Analyst The Operations Analyst position works directly with both operations and finance, with an emphasis on supervising scale operations, overseeing daily scale activities and supporting facility reporting and analysis. The person in this role will supervise scale operators, ensure accurate scale processes, and provide coverage when needed.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience is required, preferably involving skilled‑trade or industrial workers.
  • 1–2+ years of experience in operations, industrial, or manufacturing environments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and manage both concrete and abstract information.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel and proficiency with word‑processing and reporting tools.
  • High School diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree
  • Background in accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Experience with industrial production or similar operational settings is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise scale operators, and Assistant Operations Assistant (Profiled Waste Biller), including scheduling, training, performance, and daily oversight.
  • Learn and maintain all scale operations processes, including system use, ticketing, data entry, and reporting.
  • Provide coverage at the scale when needed.
  • Assist scale operators with questions, review ticket edits, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Reconcile production reports with scale data (PC Scales).
  • Ensure correct account usage for waste customers, ash, metals, fuel oil, lime, and other materials that require weight tracking.
  • Review daily submissions from shift supervisors to ensure accuracy in production reports and the FDM.
  • Review and process facility invoices.
  • Ensure Compliance with Standard Operation Procedure 610 (Scale House Sarbanes-Oxley Procedure)
  • Compare month‑to‑date operating performance against budget and forecast.
  • Complete billing reconciliations and correct errors related to rates, tons billed, or account coding.
  • Assist the Area Controller and Facility Manager with budget tracking, forecast updates, capital Expense tracking, and budget package preparation.
  • Provide account‑code assistance to managers, planners, and buyers.
  • Research expenses for monthly accruals and communicate findings to the Facility Controller.
  • Review operational statistics and cost forecasts; make adjustments as needed.
  • Support managers with analysis requests.
  • Handle administrative duties such as scanning and forwarding special‑waste paperwork to the billing department.
