About The Position

The position is fully on-site. We are seeking an Operations Data Analyst responsible for accruing, cleaning, and interpreting data, analyzing results, and providing actionable insights to drive informed decision-making across all lines of business. The Operations Data Analyst will be responsible for creating data models to communicate a clear understanding of the organization’s data. This position will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop analytical solutions, and present findings in a clear and concise manner. The Operations Data Analyst must understand the business processes and systems used by different departments or functions and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. The Operations Data Analyst bridges the gap between business needs and technology solutions, driving success through continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Data Science, Business Analytics or related field required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in data analysis, business intelligence or related fields.
  • Experience working in healthcare with at a Joint Commission-accredited facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data mining techniques as well as, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is highly preferred.
  • Computer skills are required, including using various software tools. Specifically: Power automate, SQL (Structured Query Language), Python, Tableau, Excel, Power BI, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), MATLAB, Oracle, SPSS (highly preferred), and EPIC experience required.
  • Excellent analytical skills required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Automate.
  • Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely verbally and in writing, and to establish positive, professional relationships with all levels of staff, management, vendors and customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team required, and to analyze issues and problem-solve in creative and effective ways.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources (flat files, EMR, Medical data portals, etc.).
  • Perform data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop scripts and workflows to automate data collection and processing tasks.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including senior executive and other medical professionals, to practical tools that can gather actionable data.
  • Identify imbalanced datasets and execute methodology to balance said dataset.
  • Create processes and workflows to normalize datasets.
  • Create complete data models to effectively and efficiently process information.
  • Create user friendly data collection tools and supervise deployment in a coherent manner.
  • Identify errors in data, communicate and work with stakeholders to resolve errors.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to derive insights from complex datasets.
  • Conduct hypothesis testing and predictive modeling to support business objectives.
  • Create methodologies to combine data from different sources that may require developing mapping techniques to link and make data useful.
  • Work with subject matter experts to create data models that accurately and comprehensively interpret data.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on all lines of business.
  • Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders using data visualization tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver actionable insights.
  • Create standardized and ad hoc reports based on department needs.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
  • Identify and address data quality issues and discrepancies working with stakeholders to improve and resolve.
  • Implement data quality controls and monitoring mechanisms for better collection, storage and management.
  • Partner with business units to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
  • Create mechanisms to track and report KPIs and other performance indicators.
  • Analyze business processes and operations to identify opportunities for improvement or new lines of business.
  • Provide decision support through ad-hoc analysis and scenario modeling.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics.
  • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities.
  • Share knowledge and insights with colleagues to foster a culture of continuous learning.
