About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking early-career Operations Analysts who are curious, analytical, and eager to grow at the leading edge of technology. As an Operations Analyst, you will support analysis of battlefield environments and interactions among sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems across multi-domain operations. You will identify patterns and trends, translate observations into clear insights, and help inform technical and mission decisions. You will collaborate with experienced domain and technology experts on trend discovery, risk assessment, options analysis, and documentation of assumptions and uncertainties. You will also help develop white papers, briefings, and presentations for technical and leadership audiences, and build knowledge of military operations, modeling and simulation, and mission-level analysis through hands-on project work and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant professional, internship, academic research, or project experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Interest in multi-domain operations, defense technologies, modeling and simulation, or operations research.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework, internships, research, or project experience involving modeling and simulation tools, such as AFSIM, MATLAB, Simulink (and similar tools).
  • Awareness of digital engineering concepts (and related concepts like model based simulation engineering)
  • Familiarity with military operations, tactics, strategy, or systems engineering concepts.
  • Exposure to Air, Space, Surface, Ground, Undersea, or Cyber domains.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code or Codex, for analysis, modeling, or prototyping.
  • Interest or exposure to analytical wargaming, Counter-UAS operations, Homeland Security missions, border security, or critical infrastructure defense.
