Requirements

  • Degree, diploma or certification in computer science, computer engineering technology, network engineering technology, or electrical engineering is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operational and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting OT or SCADA systems in a high availability operational environment.
  • Hands on experience with AVEVA OASyS and/or AVEVA Enterprise SCADA preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure (Windows 10/11, Windows Server, standalone and clustered implementations of Hyper V, Active Directory, WSUS, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and document issues across SCADA, MQTT, OT systems, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Test, coordinate, and deploy operating system, application, and firmware patches in high availability environments.
  • Support, maintain, and upgrade SCADA system platforms (AVEVA OASyS/Enterprise SCADA).
  • Administer and support MQTT middleware and edge systems, including brokers, clients, and Ignition software.
  • Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual Windows systems (domain joined and non-domain joined).
  • Perform hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for servers, workstations, and operator consoles.
  • Maintain supporting infrastructure including Veeam backups, WSUS patching, and SolarWinds monitoring systems.
  • Adhere to cybersecurity principles and support the implementation of cybersecurity tools to protect OT assets.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to coordinate and complete upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution in a safe and timely manner.
  • Manage user, group, and service permissions across OT domains and environments.
  • Administer virtualization platforms, including standalone and clustered Hyper V and ESXi environments.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through adherence to processes and accurate documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after hours or occasional off-site support for 24/7 operations.
