Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 2 years of experience or an Advanced degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities as an integrator or within another team-oriented role
  • Familiarity of Pratt & Whitney’s Leadership Operating Model (LOM) or similar
  • Communication skills, including effective listening, clear written/verbal communication and experience working with various levels of leadership
  • Analytical background with familiarity in engine hardware, systems, technical problem solving.
  • Analytical background with computer programming or extensive Microsoft Excel (VBA) experience.
  • Work experience within the Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace, or Aviation industries.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in flight safety processes, including Safety Issue Management (SIM) L3/ESW, Safety Risk Assessment ESW, customer safety guidance (FAA Guidelines)
  • Participate in Internal Safety Review process to ensure accountability is maintained throughout the flight safety process.
  • Ensure accurate Safety Issue Status (SIM) status; proficiency in SIM SharePoint tool is preferred
  • Maintain flexibility to support urgent program flight safety concerns
  • Perform quantitative safety risk assessments on gas turbine propulsion systems, identify flight safety hazard and provide guidance within the program.
  • Develop quantitative models blending engineering insights and statistical methods to determine required actions
  • Coordinate with P&W technical experts to identify and document engine event sequences that could hazard the aircraft, producing aircraft hazard assessments, and manage these hazards within the PW Safety Issue Management Process (SIM)
  • Understands safety threshold guidance as it applies to both P&W internal and external customers; focusing on program-specific safety analysis guidance
  • Communicates and works effectively with different organizations in the company including PCEs, CIPTs, EDSI, CTS, Programs, Aftermarket, etc.
  • Understands Safety Board process. Participate in the updating the Safety Board SharePoint tool and executive level visibility in presenting tasks to the Safety Board.
