About The Position

This role supports all aspects of issue identification, analysis, remediation, and monitoring & reporting within Asset & Wealth Management. The Analyst will collaborate with issue owners, aggregate issues across the business, and facilitate executive reporting. They will analyze potential business risks, process deficiencies, and gaps in risk management standards. The position involves supporting the development of the process and controls environment across asset management, wealth management, and consumer businesses, and partnering with other teams to remediate issues and implement corrective actions. A key part of the role is developing executive reporting and data-driven deliverables, performing root cause analysis, and identifying thematic trends. The Analyst will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve inconsistencies and enhance controls testing, becoming a subject matter expert in operational risk management within Wealth Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance or a related field
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a role in financial services with operational risk exposure or audit or broader risk management
  • Analytical and research skills with a demonstrated ability to execute projects from inception through completion
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
  • Good judgment and discretion
  • Experience building reports and presentations.
  • Expert level proficiency in the Microsoft tool suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to financial services, operational risk, audit or risk management a plus
  • Exposure to Wealth Management a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in risk analysis and management and/or an understanding of regulations and regulatory reform strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of issue identification, analysis, remediation and monitoring & reporting, including collaboration with issue owners, aggregation of issues across the business, and facilitation of executive reporting.
  • Analyze potential business risks, process deficiencies, and potential gaps/ weaknesses in risk management standards.
  • Support developing process and controls environment (inventory and maps) across asset management, wealth management and consumer businesses.
  • Support process deep dives by reviewing process documentation (process maps, procedures, etc.) to document existing controls and identify control gaps.
  • Partner with other business units and support teams to remediate issues and assist with implementation of corrective actions related to control failures and operational risk events.
  • Develop executive reporting and other data-driven deliverables, with a focus on providing appropriate content, context, and structure in a precise and timely manner.
  • Gather and synthesize data to perform root cause analysis and determine thematic trends related to issues identified by the business first, second and third lines of defense.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational inconsistencies and enhance controls testing processes.
  • Become a subject matter expert in areas of the operational risk management framework executed across Wealth Management.
