About The Position

Supports day-to-day execution of manufacturing data-protection controls, including external account and elevated-rights approvals, data-loss-prevention monitoring, plant data-sharing, and governance assessments. Works closely with the Manufacturing Information & Protection lead and partners across Manufacturing Engineering, Cybersecurity, IT, Purchasing, and plant teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, IT risk, data governance, or operational assurance.
  • Experience operating structured approval or exception processes (access governance, data-protection tools, vendor onboarding, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of data-protection principles, including data classification, least-privilege access, third-party risk, and incident handling.
  • High attention to detail; ability to apply policy consistently and document defensible decisions.
  • Proficiency with tracking and productivity tools (Excel, dashboards, ticketing systems) and operational metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with plant and business audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with manufacturing, plant, or engineering environments, bridging operations, IT, and suppliers.
  • Familiar with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) operations, access/identity governance, or third-party risk frameworks in large enterprises.
  • Experience defining standard work or runbooks for managed services
  • Background in process improvement or automation (scripting, workflow tools, AI-assisted agents).
  • Security/privacy certifications desired (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIPT, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Review and recommend decisions on external accounts, removable media (USB), and third-party access requests; maintain checklists, decision trees, and governance logs.
  • Monitor data-loss-prevention events for Manufacturing; triage exceptions, support incident handling, and coordinate with central security on rule tuning and gaps.
  • Support plant data-sharing activities — assessments, due diligence questionnaires, supplier/partner requirements — and author deviation/non-compliance impact reports for executive review.
  • Conduct governance assessments and risk evaluations for Manufacturing information sources; confirm data classification and policy alignment.
  • Track and report operational metrics (volumes, cycle time, backlog, risk themes); serve as first-line support for plants and business teams on data-protection questions.
  • Maintain the Manufacturing Information Protection SharePoint site and communicate policy guidance and awareness content to manufacturing audiences.
