About The Position

Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement across the entire company. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Lead process improvement projects by facilitating groups and teams, managing projects, monitoring for sustainability, presenting results and recommendations, and developing metrics and measurement tools to improve operating processes toward greater efficiency. Assist in the design and implementation of manufacturing processes and systems; evaluate and propose needed machinery and manufacturing tools; develop plant or area layouts to facilitate product flow; train RAM personnel on lean manufacturing principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or manufacturing related discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Proven experience with Lean implementation and associated results.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in using computer programs, including ERP and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Aerospace and Defense manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully meet goals and objectives.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • SOAR System Support: tracking, developing, assisting, and following up on projects to ensure proper closeout and sustainment.
  • New Employee Onboarding - Lean Training
  • Customer CI Support and Submittals: Customer portal submissions, customer audit and survey support, and AS9100 audit improvement support.
  • MOS Support and Development: Tier board development, visual management improvements, and MOS meeting support and action execution.
  • Personal Project/SOAR execution with an annual target of savings.
  • Direct the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Perform individual and team training sessions related to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement events.
  • Identify, organize, and execute improvement projects to achieve results of improvement business performance (improved quality, reduced manufacturing costs, lead time reduction).
  • Support the implementation and utilization of visual management boards including key metrics.
  • Provide training and coaching to the production teams on effectively utilizing metrics.
  • Perform and teach value stream mapping and waste evaluation techniques.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute kaizen events.
  • Develop project charters and provide support for others to execute kaizen events.
  • Document RAM’s progress with lean and associated improvement activities.
  • Support the business unit managers in continuous improvement execution, training, and development.
  • Report on company metrics associated with lean, kaizen, and continuous improvement events and initiatives.
  • Present lean progress and improvement initiative metrics to management.
  • Enable process improvement participation and acceptance of change efforts.
  • Work directly with staff, supervisors, managers and company leadership to implement and maintain process improvement.
  • Design, map, and set up new production lines.
  • Evaluate existing production lines and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for manufacturing documentation and tooling to support process improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
