About The Position

EnviroLogix is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Operational Excellence Intern to support continuous improvement initiatives at its Portland, Maine site. The summer internship provides hands-on experience in Kaizen fundamentals, process optimization, and team facilitation while contributing to strategic business priorities. Interns work on projects that address real-world business challenges, receive mentorship and career development, and present project outcomes to leadership at the end of the summer.

Requirements

Be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program, preferably in science, manufacturing, engineering, business, or a related field.
Demonstrate a strong analytical and process-oriented mindset.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Have an interest in or experience with Lean, Kaizen, or operational excellence methodologies.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Be comfortable facilitating discussions and leading small groups.
Be curious, proactive, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

Participate in planning and executing process improvement initiatives across the business.
Contribute to Kaizen and problem-solving events and waste walks to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
Document and present findings, recommendations, and outcomes to support improvement efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.
Help build and sustain visual management tools, including Daily Boards, Standard Work, and action trackers.
