About The Position

State Street Investment Management is seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) to join the Operational Due Diligence (Ops DD) team within Global Funds Management. This team is responsible for overseeing and conducting operational due diligence on third-party investment managers and sub-advisory relationships. The role requires independent liaison with external partners, investment managers, sub-advisors, and internal cross-functional teams. Successful candidates will possess a continuous improvement and innovation mindset and be technologically savvy. There is an opportunity to advance within the organization and expand responsibilities by taking a leadership role in Ops DD reviews.

Requirements

A professional demeanor with the ability to conduct meetings with senior management
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, which includes excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts of ideas and processes.
Ability to communicate with various internal teams to resolve inquiries and understanding when to escalate
Candidates must demonstrate initiative, be able to perform well under pressure, and simultaneously handle multiple assignments and to work efficiently to meet client and stakeholder deliverables
Understanding of technology (e.g., industry platforms, data tools, portals, workflow, automation)
2-5 years of experience in third party manager operational due diligence.
Knowledge of investment vehicles, operations and controls.

Responsibilities

Assist (Lead with experience) with initial and ongoing third party manager and sub advisor operational due diligence reviews, including performing document reviews, participating in Ops DD meetings, and producing reports as directed by Senior Ops DD team members.
Manage the media monitoring and background check processes for third party managers and sub advisors.
Plan and facilitate activities for third party managers and sub advisors as directed by Senior Ops DD team members.
Provide timely responses to inquiries and execute outreach to third party managers, sub-advisors, and internal cross functional teams.
Liaise with internal functional areas including Global Funds Management, Investment Research, Legal, Compliance and Product Management on various matters.
Review Due Diligence Questionnaire responses and escalate items of concern to the Senior Ops DD team members.
