The Gainesville, GA facility is looking for an Operational Buyer to manage the timely availability of parts and machines within agreed service levels, considering optimal costs (Total costs of ownership principle). This role is responsible for managing availability according to realistic planning, taking into account available capacity and customer requirements.

  • College Diploma.
  • Experience in Supply Chain processes (Planning, Inventory Control).
  • Knowledge of ERP, engineering, and reporting systems.
  • Experience with MS office.
  • Reading technical drawings (PLM).
  • Languages: Local language and English.

Responsibilities

  • Implements processes and tools that focus on early identification and resolution of exceptions / shortages.
  • Identifies component supply risk and proposes / implements corrective actions to secure component supply (shortage management).
  • Evaluates component demand against capacities resolving exceptions to ensure component supply.
  • Manages rejects and returns process according to the correct priorities.
  • Monitors Supply Chain KPI's (use PDCA method).
  • Responsible for Master Data management.
  • Streamlines logistics/warehousing activities to minimize all relevant operational cost and communicates in case of exceptions.
  • Sets the right balance between short-term and long-term planning.
  • Balances between deadlines & details, speed & completeness, and focuses on items with greatest impact.
  • Incorporates product life cycle into component plans to ensure availability and minimize obsolescence (phase in / phase out management).
  • Upon request analyzes, identifies and proposes actions regarding Inventory strategies and stock levels.
  • Works together with Supply Chain Engineer on inventory levels and execution of inventory strategies.
  • Monitors partnership with supplier while holding supplier accountable for supply performance.
  • Monitors important supplier performance indicators: delivery reliability, supplier lead time and obsolescence.
  • Identifies, executes supplier improvement programs to increase supply agility and reliability.
  • Proposes and validates logistics agreements with suppliers.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects.
  • Proposes continuous improvements, considering own workspace, department processes, JBT Marel processes and supplier processes.
  • Uses available Supply Chain tools / ERP systems and interprets / analyses data to review component plan inputs and constraints.
  • Enables smart system planning by using / setting up master data (lead times, MRP types, MOQ, etc.).
  • Uses tools to evaluate and improve supplier performance.
