About The Position

This role focuses on the reconciliation of assigned General Ledger (GL) accounts and Demand Deposit Accounts (DDAs) in a timely and accurate manner. The associate will identify out-of-balance conditions, potential fraud, and unusual or aged items within their assigned accounts and escalate them according to established procedures. The position requires adherence to company policies, operational risk controls, and compliance with applicable standards. A key aspect of the role is promoting an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand, while maintaining internal control standards and completing assigned duties.

Requirements

HS Diploma/GED
2 years work experience

Responsibilities

Timely and accurate reconciliation / reporting of assigned portfolio activity to Finance / Audit / SOX to ensure accurate Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP.
Gather and research data to prepare routine accounting reports including daily, weekly and/or monthly departmental reporting assignments.
Perform research to resolve reconciliation discrepancies with assistance.
Communicate with internal cross-functional areas, business partners and investors to assist in resolution of routine inquiries/issues.
Update procedures due to changes in process or accounting requirements with input from Operational Accountants II, III, IV or Manager.
Adhere to established policies, procedures and limits focusing on observable breaches in Corporate Risk policies.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
