About The Position

The bakery business is their passion, and this is an opportunity to be a member of their team. They are searching for a motivated and experienced Operation Line Technician 1 for the 1st shift (7 AM to 3 PM). The Operation Line Technician 1 is responsible for evaluating, optimizing, and diagnosing problems and surveillance of line processing flow. They will oversee operations including installation, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the process. This role is also responsible for training employees and ensuring the lines are flowing properly.

Requirements

• Minimum experience of 2 years working with multiple operating machines in a food manufacturing facility.
• Training in general safety, food safety, and quality awareness.
• Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Bi-lingual preferred.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Technical knowledge of the machines and installations in the department.
• Knowledge of food safety, GMP or training in the field of food.
• Knowledge of HACCP requirements in a working environment with (food) raw materials.
• Working knowledge of quality protocols.
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring efficient operation of multiple machines and that the products are being processed in conformance to quality standards and meet acceptable specifications.
• Performing inspections and minor mechanical functions.
• Performing prescribed basic preventative maintenance on machines as required per the Total Preventative Maintenance charts.
• Ensuring loose products are handled properly on the line without disturbing or causing damage and distortion to the process.
• Checking and ensuring the process is running smoothly by observing and inspecting product for any inconveniences in shape or dimensions according to the product specification.
• Identifying/Eliminating technical malfunctions; recording and alerting Supervisor and/or Maintenance of process disruptions.
• Working in unison with other co-workers on the line.
• Ensuring proper cleaning, operations, and safety of machines and work area in accordance with procedures, regulations, and working methods defined. Also supervising compliance of such operations.
• Correcting problems and setting priorities.
• Identifying bottlenecks in the work processes and making suggestions for improvements.
• Maintaining productivity logs as required.
• Observing the line to ensure that product is moving uniformly through various stages of processing according to the production schedule.
• Detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Working in accordance with the procedures, working instructions, and safety regulations as they apply within the Company and escalating and reporting immediately to the Supervisor if unable to do so.
• Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures, work instructions, and safety regulations.
• Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
• Following all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
• Ensuring execution of the work as defined above.
• Reporting unsafe working conditions to the Department Supervisor.
• Working in accordance with the applicable procedures, work instructions, and safety regulations.
• Knowing all emergency stop points and safety guards that exist on the line.
