About The Position
The Operating Room Technologist Trainee is enrolled in the Jackson Hospital Surgical Services OR Tech Training Program. The Operating Room Technologist Trainee functions under the supervision of the Clinical Educator, the Registered Nurse, and the Surgical Technologist Preceptor in the Operating Room. The OR Tech Trainee will participate in classroom training utilizing videos, virtual simulation and hands on simulation, weekly testing/check-offs, observation by Clinical Educator, and will progress to working with preceptors within the OR. The OR Tech Trainee will remain in this position until completion of the OR Tech Training Program and at that time may promote to the OR Tech position.
Requirements
- High school diploma and/or GED required.
- A 1-year work commitment as FT ORT required.
Nice To Haves
- One year of previous experience in a health care related field preferred.
- Completion of high school healthcare related course(s).
Responsibilities
- Participate in classroom training utilizing videos, virtual simulation and hands on simulation.
- Complete weekly testing/check-offs.
- Work with preceptors within the OR.
- Remain in the OR Tech Trainee position until completion of the OR Tech Training Program.
