About The Position
The Operating Room Technician (ORT) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role performs delegated job functions, including planning, preparing, and setting up for cases, as well as managing supplies and equipment. Work is performed according to institutional policies and procedures, the individual’s experience and educational scope, and applicable legal guidelines. The ORT is expected to anticipate the needs of patients and physicians and make decisions within the scope of practice.
Requirements
- High school graduation.
- Completion of a Surgical Technician Program at a technical or junior college, or a hospital-based program.
Nice To Haves
- One year of operating room job experience as an ORT.
