Operating Room Technician
About The Position
Under the direction and supervision of licensed personnel, the Operating Room Aide assists in providing direct patient care and performing tasks required for daily unit functions. Duties include obtaining equipment, supplies, and positioning aids for operative cases; helping set up the operating room; holding limbs for surgical preparation; and assisting with patient positioning under the direction of the RN circulator. The role also dismantles and transports dirty instruments and equipment to the decontamination area, performs room cleaning and turnover duties between cases, transports patients, and completes final checks of case carts to ensure needed supplies and equipment are available for surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in an operating room as an ORA.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
