About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring that the operating room has the necessary supplies for surgical cases. The clerk will assemble supplies based on preference sheets, inspect products for damage and expiration dates, process returns, and restock items. This position requires accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management to maintain adequate supply levels for supported departments. The clerk will also interact with staff professionally, respond to urgent supply requests, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) required
  • 6 months previous stock clerk experience preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology or in healthcare preferred.
  • Skill with verbal communication.
  • Skill memorizing items and locations.
  • Skill using computers and performing data entry.
  • Basic knowledge of stock management.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and with demanding customer interactions.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and motorized carts.

Responsibilities

  • Pull necessary supplies for surgery cases.
  • Assemble supplies based on preference sheet working with staff on any substitutions.
  • Inspect products for damage and date to ensure sterility for procedures.
  • Process return credit for all locations, ensuring all products have been scanned.
  • Replace products in correct location.
  • Deliver supplies to requesting department in a timely manner.
  • Respond to supply requests from active surgery urgently.
  • Maintain adequate levels of supplies for all supported departments (e.g., MOR, OPS, Preop/Pacu & GI Lab,etc.).
  • Inventory identified par locations (19).
  • Restocking from pick list for all par locations.
  • Re-claiming over stock from the par locations as necessary.
  • Utilizing handheld for all par location scanning
  • Rotate stock to ensure products are used before expiration date and to identify any product damage.
  • Use First in First methodology in stock rotation.
  • Verify that product is in the correct location based on bin and label.
  • Remove all outdates from the shelves/inventory.
  • Utilize handheld scanner to track all outdates from the inventory.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and storage areas on a regular basis.
  • Accurately restock items on a daily basis.
  • Stock from appropriate inventory based on shift
  • Interact with staff in a professional manner.
  • Field calls for supplies in a timely manner, prioritizing these requests during active procedures.
  • Confirm and verify item being requested.
  • Provide item to requestor ensuring appropriate entry to surgical suites.
