About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center in New Jersey. This position is ideal for an OR nurse who excels in high-acuity surgical environments and is experienced in both scrub and circulating roles. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional perioperative care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, infection prevention, and quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 4 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Recent experience in both scrub and circulating roles
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative standards of care
  • Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality monitoring
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with the ability to coordinate care efficiently across multiple surgical cases
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.
  • Perform both scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities across a variety of surgical specialties.
  • Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all infection prevention and aseptic techniques.
  • Continuously assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgery.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Accurately document patient care, surgical procedures, and clinical observations in accordance with facility policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate seamless patient care.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and support best practices in perioperative nursing.
