About The Position

The Surgical Services Department at Baptist Health Lexington encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department. The Operating Room Nurse provides care and support to patients before, during and after surgery. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity. The role requires the ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students. This is a full-time, first shift position with 5x8 hour days and includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus for qualified individuals.

Requirements

Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
