Operating Room Nurse (RN)
About The Position
Provides nursing service to patients who are scheduled for surgery and during surgery in a Medical/Surgical Infirmary of a Correctional Facility hospital. Communicates patient data using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to support decision-making to improve patient care. Assists with or performs exams and procedures and documents intervention in EMR. Prepares and operates necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures. Oversee sterilization process of instruments. Orders supplies. Provides nursing care to the patient in the recovery room setting. Demonstrates Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Code blue procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved accredited school of nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse as approved by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or have the ability to transfer RN license to Texas.
- At least two years of specific operating room experience.
