About The Position

A leading acute care surgical program in the Kansas City metro area is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to oversee perioperative operations across a multi-specialty surgical services department with strong orthopedic, robotics, and neuro-focused procedural volume. This leadership role is responsible for daily OR operations, staffing management, surgical throughput, perioperative quality initiatives, physician collaboration, and operational oversight of surgical services within a fast-paced acute care hospital environment. The ideal candidate has strong operating room leadership experience, understands perioperative workflow optimization, and can lead high-performing surgical teams while balancing patient safety, physician satisfaction, staffing efficiency, and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Active RN license or compact RN license
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of recent operating room experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Minimum 3 years of recent perioperative leadership experience, including Charge RN or OR Manager responsibilities
  • General surgery experience
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Operating Room, including staffing, scheduling, and surgical workflow coordination
  • Monitor productivity, premium labor utilization, staffing coverage, and perioperative resource management
  • Ensure efficient surgical schedule flow while maintaining patient safety and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, perioperative staff, and hospital leadership to support high-quality surgical outcomes
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with AORN standards and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze perioperative operational metrics and report service line performance data
  • Support supply chain optimization, equipment utilization, and process improvement efforts
  • Assist with perioperative staff development, scheduling oversight, and team leadership initiatives
  • Serve as a liaison between surgical services teams, physicians, patients, and families
