About The Position

Known as "SWAT RN" within the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, this full-time premium rate rotational Nurse position supports both the Bucks Chalfont Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Main Hospital at Philadelphia Campus. The ideal candidate must have pediatric OR RN scrubbing and circulating experience in the following: ENT, Urology, Dental, Sports Medicine, General Surgery, Plastics and Ophthalmology. Must have PALS certification. The SWAT nurse is a highly skilled, highly trained experienced nurse who provides support to both the ASCs and the main hospital. The SWAT nurse is able to function independently to provide safe, quality and clinically competent care. The SWAT nurse is able to plan, implement, evaluate and document care that is in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

Technical Diploma Nursing Required
At least two (2) years Operating room experience Required or
At least one (1) year PACU or critical care nursing experience Required and

Computer Competency (Required proficiency)
Basic Use of MS Word 2007. (Required proficiency)
Creating meeting minutes, charts, and tables. (Required proficiency)
Saving and naming new and established files. (Required proficiency)
Basic Use of MS PowerPoint 2007. (Required proficiency)
Creating education presentations using clip art. (Required proficiency)
Basic Use of MS Excel 2007. (Required proficiency)
Creating simple spreadsheets, sometimes using symbols. (Required proficiency)

Ability to perform a literature search on the Internet and ability to find professional journal and/or research-based articles.
Ability to evaluate Internet sites for reliability.

Responsibilities

Nursing Practice
Follows Nursing Process to deliver safe care: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Synthesizes patient assessment data and recognizes complex situations prior to communicating with care team.
