About The Position

Coastal Orthopedics is seeking an experienced and dedicated Operating Room Circulator RN to join their team. As an essential member of the surgical staff, the RN will play a vital role in creating a safe, efficient, and positive surgical experience while serving as a trusted advocate for every patient. This role is ideal for someone passionate about perioperative nursing looking for an opportunity to practice in a high-quality orthopedic surgical environment with a supportive team and a predictable schedule.

Requirements

  • Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and patient safety standards
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical environment
  • Ability to obtain relevant patient history and provide clear pre- and post-operative education

Nice To Haves

  • Critical care nursing knowledge and experience preferred
  • Previous Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage patient care throughout the surgical experience.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, site verification, and ensuring all required documentation and consents are complete.
  • Serve as the patient's advocate, promoting safety, comfort, dignity, and compassionate care.
  • Maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Monitor and document patient status, medications, procedures, and intraoperative events.
  • Assess patients throughout the perioperative process and recognize changes in condition.
  • Provide post-operative assessments and assist with recovery care as needed.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and critical situations.
  • Ensure surgical supplies, instruments, medications, and equipment are available and properly managed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
