About The Position

Shriners Children’s Greenville is seeking a passionate Operating Room Circulating /PACU RN to join their Surgical Services Division. This role is crucial in supporting the organization's mission of providing stellar healthcare services for pediatric orthopedic patients. The successful candidate will work with a dedicated team of health professionals, contributing to amazing care and successful outcomes for patients. This position offers a unique work schedule with no nights, holidays, or weekends.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
  • RN license in state of practice (SC)
  • Prior OR Circulator RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), obtained within one year of employment as required by hospital

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
  • 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital
  • Pediatric and/or orthopedic experience

Responsibilities

  • The coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in the operating room.
  • Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
  • Will function within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
  • The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN.
  • Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.
