Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active RN license in the state of Iowa
• Certifications for BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• A minimum of two years of OR or Pre/Post experience
• Management experience
• Considerable knowledge of surgical operations and functions
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients and their families

Responsibilities

• Facilitating clinical services through the facility to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
• Assisting in the coordination of staff, equipment, and resources needed to keep the surgery center functioning safely and efficiently on a daily basis.
• Responsible for the daily needs/operations of the OR.
• Coordinating with PAT staff to verify patient pre-admission requirements.
• Overseeing daily staffing assignments in the assigned clinical areas and the daily surgery schedule.
• Reviewing the surgery schedule for the following day and establishing case orders based on physician preference, patients' needs and requests, and instrument availability.
• Monitors surgery scheduling sheets for surgeon special requests and/or patient needs.
• Holding all staff members accountable for providing high-level care, maintaining patient confidentiality, and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
