About The Position

The Operating Room Attendant is responsible for supporting the operating room teams by ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of the OR rooms and equipment. This role involves turning over OR rooms between cases, disinfecting equipment, mopping floors, restocking supplies, and assisting with patient support. The attendant also makes runs to the Lab and Blood Bank as needed and participates in emergency protocols. The position requires providing high-quality service efficiently, effectively, and compassionately.

Requirements

• High School Diploma Required

• Six months to one year prior OR assistant experience is Preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver and disinfect case carts; return dirty carts to CPD.
• Dock Neptunes for cleaning.
• Transport dirty scopes and biohazard bins between Cysto and CPD.
• Clean and reset OR rooms between cases (wipe equipment, mop floors).
• Assist with patient transfers post-surgery.
• Set up rooms with equipment for upcoming procedures.
• Dispose of dirty linen and garbage properly.
• Restock clean linen and replace soiled bags in OR cores.
• Restock general supplies (foam, gloves, masks, specimen cups).
• Maintain housekeeping carts, mops, buckets, and Formalin.
• Clean and organize storage areas and equipment.
• Report broken equipment to appropriate personnel.
• Make runs to Lab and Blood Bank as needed.
• Participate in Massive Blood Transfusion Protocol when required.
• Deliver services efficiently, effectively, and compassionately in alignment with organizational standard.
