Operating Room Assistant in Main Surgery Unit at St Joseph Hospital Eureka. This position is Per Diem and will work 8-hour Day Shifts. The Environmental Services Worker (EVS Worker), under the immediate direction of the Manager of Surgical Services, employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to provide support to the Surgical Services Department by assisting with transporting patients to and from operating room and other surgical departments, preparing OR surgical suites for procedures including obtaining necessary equipment and supplies and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the unit. Demonstrates competency in age specific skills for patients: child, adolescent, adult, geriatric patients. Incorporates physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, psychosocial factors into the transportation and care process (e.g., behavior inconsistent with developmental stage, medications, educational needs, abuse/neglect, communication, etc.). Requirements

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

  • 1 year Experience in hospital or clinical environmental services position.
