About The Position

Ensures availability of necessary supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. Assists with timely turnover of assigned rooms throughout the day. Sets up rooms for next day's schedule. Sets up case carts. Takes and fills inventory as needed. Functions as a runner interdepartmentally. Answer incoming telephone calls and triage as appropriate. May assist with patient care (positioning patient, preparing patient, etc.) under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique. This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent. Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in a hospital-based setting, preferably in the operating room.
  • Must have good communication, problem solving, and prioritization and self-motivation skills.
