About The Position

Responsible for ensuring excellent patient care, maintaining safety standards, and providing medical assistance in the operating room. Promotes a philosophy of patient/family‑focused care through cordial greetings and interactions with patients, families, and hospital personnel. Provides hospital or unit orientation information for guests, patients, and families. Demonstrates awareness of hospital systems and procedures, including the location of departments, procedure areas, and other patient services. Refers patients, families, and others to appropriate resources. Independently transports and assists with the transfer of patients. Properly identifies patients using two approved identifiers. Ensures safety and support measures during patient transfers (e.g., bedrails raised, patient covered and kept warm). Demonstrates awareness of and follows special precautions when transferring patients with precautions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care Experience 0-1 year required
  • Must be able to comprehend written directions for mixing cleaning supplies and ordering supplies
  • Must be aware of proper body mechanics when assisting in patient transfer and lifting of heavy objects
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with other health care members
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team
  • Must constantly be alert and attentive to progress of O.R. schedule to meet tight deadlines
