About The Position
Performs routine duties in the Operating Room area which assist the nursing staff in caring for patients.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Nice To Haves
- Nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Operating room experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff in caring for patients in the Operating Room area.
- Follow instructions and perform routine tasks carefully and properly.
- Address patients with appropriate title or agreed to by patient.
- Listen and appropriately respond to patient/significant other, staff, and physician concerns.
- Communicate nonverbally a calm, caring attitude.
- Communicate appropriately pertinent information concerning the patient, equipment, instruments and supplies.
