AV Group NB Inc. is currently recruiting an Operating Mechanic – Welder in the Maintenance Department.
Role Overview:
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor and ultimately, the Mechanical Superintendent, the successful candidate will work to execute daily maintenance activities and/or capital and major maintenance projects internal to the Nackawic Mill.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Grade 12 Graduation or equivalent
• A valid Welder Journeyman Red Seal Trade certificate is preferred
• F4 Qualified Ticket preferred
• Experience welding pressure piping to Department of Labour regulations preferred
• A minimum of two years relevant work experience is ideal
• Despite your usual working hours, you will be expected to work the hours necessary to carry out all your responsibilities, and expected to be available to work reasonable overtime
• Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment
• Candidates must be able to work safely and promote safety in the workplace
• Able to adapt to various work assignments
• Successful candidates must show experience to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Ability to work as a team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
• The successful candidate must be prepared to continue training and participate in the employer’s training program

Responsibilities

• Recommend improvements to procedures, practices & plans, as part of continuous improvement
• Respond to call-ins as required
• Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Work safely at all times while using required PPE per Health and Safety rules and regulations
