About The Position

Join JLL and develop your engineering career with us! The Operating Engineer supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. You will work as part of a 5-person engineering team at a 1.5M square foot campus comprised of office space, conference centers, labs, and data centers. This position requires the Operating Engineer to be on-site and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge building systems while delivering exceptional service to our clients and tenants. Requirements

  • 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry
  • Universal CFC EPA certification or commitment to achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
  • Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to on-site presence
  • Availability for rotating on-call responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school education, union training, military service, or college degree
  • Experience with CMMS systems and work order management
  • Background in multi-building campus environments
  • Vendor management experience
  • Familiarity with data center or laboratory environments

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks pertaining to entire campus building systems and general maintenance including HVAC, chiller plant/cooling tower maintenance, painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts, plumbing, water treatment, locksmith work, generators, and UPS maintenance
  • Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests promptly
  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Support on-call or emergency response situations and troubleshoot all building systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, DDC, and pneumatic controls systems
  • Comply with all safety procedures and statutory requirements
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
  • Assist in project oversight in partnership with Facility management team and project managers.
