About The Position

The Operating Engineer performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, adjustments, troubleshooting, and minor and major repairs on process equipment, facility equipment, and utility equipment. The role helps ensure electrical and mechanical systems function adequately to minimize downtime. The position must adhere to SOPs, cGMPs, and plant quality, safety, and documentation requirements. Other related duties or special assignments may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of manufacturing plant maintenance experience is preferred.
Knowledge of general trades, including construction, electrical, machine shop, plumbing, painting, mechanical work, and hydraulics.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Knowledge of general shop safety practices, including the handling and storage of potentially dangerous equipment.
Computer skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings, including basic electrical schematics.
Use CMMS work order systems.
Troubleshoot basic AC and DC components, such as relays, motors, and sensors.
Safely use electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, clamp-on current meters, and meggers.
Use portable saws, shears, brakes, punch presses, drill presses, and other hand tools.
Remedy machine breakdowns promptly and skillfully.
Make recommendations to improve machine performance.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility equipment.
Coordinate maintenance and preventive maintenance activities with production personnel.
Adhere to plant safety rules and complete required training.
Maintain good documentation.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
