About The Position

As an Operating Engineer, you'll be at the heart of facility operations, ensuring critical building systems run at peak performance. You'll leverage your technical expertise in one specialized craft area—whether Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations—while applying multi-craft skills across all facility systems. This role is essential to delivering JLL's commitment to operational excellence, maintaining safe and efficient environments for our clients while troubleshooting complex mechanical challenges. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration and HVAC
  • Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s (or within 90 days of employment)
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and fire/life safety systems to meet applicable performance standards and client requirements.
  • Execute preventative maintenance programs including equipment cleaning, inspection, calibration, and component replacement to optimize system performance and extend equipment lifecycle.
  • Monitor and record system readings, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency or prevent failures.
  • Manage facility services coordination including purchasing, inventory control, vendor oversight, and contractor management to ensure quality work and competitive pricing.
  • Review monthly service request summaries to identify recurring operational issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve facility reliability.
  • Verify vendor deliveries for accuracy in count, pricing, and specifications while evaluating supplier performance to maintain quality standards and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols for hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal while ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular tool and equipment inventory checks.
