About The Position

The OpenShift Engineer is accountable for engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership related to Platform-as-a-Service offerings. This role will administer multiple OpenShift clusters and assist project teams with application migrations to Platform-as-a-Service offerings and related activities.

  • OpenShift Platform Plus.
  • Advanced Cluster Management.
  • Advanced Cluster Security.
  • Ceph Administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications and microservices architectures.
  • Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads.
  • Experience with automated deployment tools.
  • Conceptual and applied understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
  • Working knowledge of networking topics such as protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and related areas.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multi-tasking environment where multiple projects require participation at a given time.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive written, oral, and digital products.
  • Willingness to document, share knowledge, and train other members of the team.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of SSL certificates.
  • Experience with Agile teams, tools, practices, and ceremonies, including kanban, stand-ups, and sprints.
  • Keeps abreast of relevant industry-leading standards and emerging technologies.
  • Container and pod-level monitoring and logging experience with Dynatrace and QRadar.
