About The Position

Osborn Consulting is hiring an OpenRoads (ORD) Designer for its Water Business Group. The role contributes to stormwater, drainage, stream, and landscaping design for large roadway, transit, and fish passage improvement projects in the Puget Sound region. The Designer develops accurate design models, plans, and construction documents that meet project and client standards, working with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals, timelines, and budgets. The Designer works with engineers and civil technicians/designers to develop designs and provide technical support. Under broad direction from project engineers or project managers, the role independently creates OpenRoads Designer (ORD) models, builds and edits ORD pipe networks in the Managed Workspace at the engineer’s direction, creates and refines horizontal and vertical alignments, and develops and edits plan and profile sheets. The position also coordinates with client CADD technicians, helps develop ORD standards and drawing-production workflows, provides feedback on design accuracy and completeness, mentors junior CADD staff, and supports internal QA/QC reviews. The Designer upholds applicable company, client, and governing-entity CADD standards and helps optimize project standards and workflows in coordination with the Design Technology Manager. The position is remote for candidates outside Washington State. For candidates in the Bellevue, Seattle, Bellingham, or Vancouver area, a hybrid schedule is preferred, with the opportunity to work in the office two to three days per week. The expected annual compensation range is $93,600–$114,400, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographic location.
